(Shock Waves own Bekah McKendry co-wrote one of the stories with her husband Dave!) We learn about the day to day operation over at Seraphim, the unusual creative process of Clive Barker and what of his properties is being adapted for other mediums. We each get to share our stories of first discovering Clive's work, personal encounters with him at conventions, favorite material and where we'd each like to see a HELLRAISER story set. This week on Shock Waves, it's just Ryan Turek and Rob Galluzzo as they discuss the latest horrors! First, the duo brings us up to speed on the new Shock Waves merchandise from Cavity Colors, an update on the upcoming Texas Frightmare convention, and then we pay tribute to the late, great Bernie Wrightson. Ryan caught a double bill of KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE and THE FUNHOUSE, and also recommends to keep an eye out for TRAGEDY GIRLS. Rob went to the other side with POLTERGEIST 3D and Scream Factory's new FIRESTARTER disc. Elric checks in from home to report back on THE BELKO EXPERIMENT, THE DEVIL'S CANDY and CREEPY. Then we welcome special guests Scott Reynolds (DEXTER, THE FOLLOWING, JESSICA JONES, IRON FIST) and Daniel Budnik (EVENTUALLY SUPERTRAIN, BLEEDING SKULL) to talk about "double features!" Most of the great friendships revolve around sharing double features with each other, so we discuss the ones we've hosted, the one's we've attended, the most memorable theatrical ones, and franchise double bills! It's a fun, candid chat with a lot of titles thrown out, and some whiskey consumed. Grab a pen and pad, kick back and enjoy!

This week on Shock Waves, join your hosts Rob Galluzzo, Ryan Turek, Elric Kane, Rebekah McKendry, and special guest co-host Darin Scott as they delve into horror anthologies! But first, a discussion on the KING KONG franchise, spurred by the latest film KONG: SKULL ISLAND, and then the latest horrors!

Ryan revisited the '89 Robert Englund fronted PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, the original VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED, THE GATE, and EVIL DEAD II in honor of its 30th anniversary. Bekah checked out THE LORE, SUGAR HILL and GOD'S LEFT HAND DEVIL'S RIGHT HAND. Elric watched ALWAYS SHINE on Shudder, the 1988 feature PULSE, and EVILSPEAK. Rob gives an early tease of Bryan Fuller's upcoming Starz series AMERICAN GODS. Then we talk horror anthologies!

Darin Scott produced two well regarding horror anthologies, FROM A WHISPER TO A SCREAM and TALES FROM THE HOOD, which hits Blu-Ray from Scream Factory on April 18th. We figured he'd be the perfect co-host to tackle this assignment with. Each of us were instructed to pick our 5 favorite segments, wrap-around optional, and put them together to build what we'd each consider our perfect horror anthology. What were the results? Were there any unanimous picks? Tune in and find out!

This episode is brought to you by THE RAKING, now available on DVD/VOD from Midnight Releasing!

This week on Shock Waves, join your hosts Rob Galluzzo, Elric Kane, Rebekah McKendry, Ryan Turek, and special guest co-host Brea Grant (BEYOND THE GATES, HALLOWEEN 2) as the group analyze social commentary and political horror in the genre! But first, the latest horrors! Bekah checked out the 80's horror anthology DEADTIME STORIES and Ed Wood's ORGY OF THE DEAD. Rob delves into the questionable with DRIVE-IN MASSACRE and THE ZODIAC KILLER. Ryan talks about THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS and revisits TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE BEGINNING and CREEPSHOW 2. In honor of Bill Paxton, we rewatched FRAILTY. And Elric reports back on GET OUT, which leads us into this week's topic.

The gang look at social commentary and underlining political messages in horror, whether unintentional or overt. Starting with Adam Simon's excellent documentary which tackles this subject in THE AMERICAN NIGHTMARE. To everything from the original GODZILLA, to THE TWILIGHT ZONE, to the films of George Romero and John Carpenter and more. Is all art in a sense political, but not necessarily specifically about politics? Kick back, relax, and join the conversation!
